Iris wrote of being thankful for the Precious Word of God today and sharing some of the verses for which she is thankful. I think I will stay with her theme and share a few Scriptures that are amazing me at the moment. As an avowed news junkie, it can get pretty depressing. There is not a lot of hope broadcasted in the name of news. But the GOOD NEWS of Scripture is that there is so much more than what we see in the temporal. So, today I am thankful for the precious HOPE in Scripture that allows us to not despair as we watch what is happening in the world.
*I the LORD do not change. Micah 3:6a
*He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes. Psalm 112:7-8
*Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.
*Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him." The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
